A six-month industrial training programme providing Biomedical Engineering students with practical experience in medical device manufacturing and laboratory environments.
ESOFT Uni (Pvt) Ltd and the AOSYS Research and Training (ART) Institute have established a partnership to provide comprehensive laboratory and industrial training opportunities for Biomedical Engineering degree students.
The programme is designed to give students practical exposure within ART’s manufacturing and laboratory facilities, connecting academic knowledge with real-world technical experience.
Under the partnership, students enrolled in ESOFT Uni’s Biomechanics, Mechanical Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering programmes will undergo a mandatory, continuous six-month industrial training programme at AOSYS Foundation Sri Lanka’s manufacturing and laboratory facilities. The training will provide practical exposure to real-world engineering, biomedical, and technical environments, helping students apply their academic knowledge to practical applications.
The jointly developed curriculum will focus on engineering principles, biomechanics, healthcare technology, manufacturing, and laboratory practices, helping students develop practical skills relevant to the global employment market.
Approximately 25 engineering students will be supported per intake.
Successful completion requires minimum 80% attendance during the practical rotation.
Training in the calibration and servicing of biomedical equipment.
Hands-on experience in medical device manufacturing, assembly, installation, and testing.
Exposure to quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance processes.
Training in health, safety, and environmental practices within medical environments.
